No-cd route, maybe? I'm running W98, 768 ram, Athlon 1ghz, cd in the drive. If you want minimum video lag get a video card that will run glide. A voodoo 3 3000 or one of the voodoo 4 or 5 cards will give the best display possible for D2 or D2x. The game was written to run glide and still runs better that way.
